I have been trying to train my Pinterest pet.

I would like it to be house broken and in order to do that one must spend time pondering what motivates people to FOLLOW some boards and disregard others.
In my latest light bulb moment,

I realized that people followed boards that were inviting and quarky. I was right on and I have LOTS of movement on my boards!
WHOO HOO!!!

But LIKES are not FOLLOWS and if you are in a business like me, and you need people to follow boards in order to send them video links, music down loads, and new pictures of your projects you need FOLLOWS not likes.
So here are some of the things I have been doing to get people to Follow Me Back…..
Ready for it?
If someone LIKES your pin… follow their link back to their pages and…..FOLLOW THEIR BOARDS!!!!
!!!!!BOOM!!!!!

I know it’s magic! Not only should you FOLLOW their boards. LIKE stuff in the boards you FOLLOW!!!
NOW go one FURTHER and
Leave a COMMENT!!!!
I am always surprised when I get a comment on Pinterest because people don’t really comment much. Everyone is liking like CRAZY. A comment will get noticed right away.
ONE MORE THING. I am realizing that there are some boards that I will automatically follow no matter what and they are as FOLLOWS:
FUNNY
INSPIRATION (not to religious)
INTERIOR DESIGN
ART
If I see those boards I will click FOLLOW automatically because those are the things I am looking for.
THE LESSON????
Be diverse when making your BOARDS!!!
Style boards are interesting to read if you are in that business or you are Lady Gaga. If you have a narrow subject range people may be passing you by. Pinterest did you a favor when they gave you starter boards. Use em’!
Now there are SOME that are an acceptation to the rule like; Miss Millionaires. She has AMAZING boards and very specific pins. Check her boards out.
That reminds me… TRY as hard as you might to NOT have a million pins on your board. No one wants to follow your obsession about squirrels and nuts…. It’s cute but a bit to much after the 30’th squirrel.

Ok now the question is: Is ANY of this working for you? Are you finding some success? Do you have any advise for my next Pinterest post? Anything you think I will be retracting?
