Boxing Gloves On?

I often refer to a quote I heard in High School

Jasmine Kyle Sings, Jasmine Kyle, I Am Jasmine Kyle, Jasmine, Singer Songwriter, Musician, Pianist, What Will All The Neighbors Think?

It goes something like:

” The more you try to do, the more will happen to you.”

Jasmine Kyle Sings, Jasmine Kyle, I Am Jasmine Kyle, Jasmine, Singer Songwriter, Musician, Pianist, What Will All The Neighbors Think?

I have always believed this quote to have a negative undertone and placed it in conversation once the “THINGS” have reared there UGLY three headed heads!

Jasmine Kyle Sings, Jasmine Kyle, I Am Jasmine Kyle, Jasmine, Singer Songwriter, Musician, Pianist, What Will All The Neighbors Think?

However AS I write this I feel the illusiveTHINGS” could mean positive things!

Jasmine Kyle Sings, Jasmine Kyle, I Am Jasmine Kyle, Jasmine, Singer Songwriter, Musician, Pianist, What Will All The Neighbors Think?

Even now the SIGNS are saying don’t get down,

Change YOUR way of thinking!

Jasmine Kyle Sings, Jasmine Kyle, I Am Jasmine Kyle, Jasmine, Singer Songwriter, Musician, Pianist, What Will All The Neighbors Think?

OH I want to be GLASS HALF FULL things are GREAT what you put out there you will receive kinda girl…

Jasmine Kyle Sings, Jasmine Kyle, I Am Jasmine Kyle, Jasmine, Singer Songwriter, Pianist

BUT that is not always the case, and I’m starting to REALLY think that you don’t have to be:

A GLOWING BEACON OF POSITIVITY

THAT you can feel DOWN and still PRESS ON!

To be 100% GREAT THINGS ARE GOOD WERE PERFECT is NOT a sustainable attitude and It’s kind of creepy!

Jasmine Kyle Sings, Jasmine Kyle, I Am Jasmine Kyle, Jasmine, Singer Songwriter, Musician, Pianist, What Will All The Neighbors Think?

This lesson has been difficult

I have had LOTS of practice if I can’t get through ADVERSITY with out CRUMBLING every time, how the HECK am I going to handle the pressure of all the things I want to achieve?

WHAT DO YOU THINK??

How have you handled “THINGS” Are you devastated for WEEKS or do you shake it off quick?

  1. Your dog is such a great sport!! Yes, I can let things get me down for weeks, but then I suddenly see the light and things turn around for me! Eventually I have always bounced back, which I think makes me a survivor. You just cannot dwell in a setback, you must put it behind you after you’ve had a little time to wallow in it!! 🙂

  2. This is my favorite post of yours.Love the 3rd pic its really hilarious. It is sometimes/many times confusing as to which attitude to go with. You’re right about the whole positive take, its creepy, honestly I think it is delusional to some point. As for how do I handle “things”? I guess earlier it was extreme disappointment now I’ve grown out of it. Hope so! Or maybe I am just slacking (grrr hope not) Any advise?

  3. Awesome pictures. Made me giggle.

How do I handle things? It depends on the things. The last two times that I had “things” one time I was suicidal and the other I just shut myself off for over a year.

    • Been there buddy! I’m glad to hear you’ve gotten your self out of that. My favorite saying to my husband now is… It won’t be a pretty win but it will be a WIN! You know?

  4. This post was hilarious! I loved the pictures. You are too funny. As for your final question, I think that this is one that is different for everyone. I have been knocked down by life and it was not fun, but it was necessary for me to see that where I wanted to get to was not where I had been going. If that makes any sense. You are going to be challenged in life, that is the way of it, you will rise to and overcome them, rise to and fall back from them or just be crushed by them totally. No matter what happens, if you learn something of value it will have been worth it. That is how learning is done, that is how you gain perspective and that is how you grow. Only you can decide how you will attack whatever is in front of you.

    • if you learn something of value it will have been worth it!!

BRILLIANT!!! Thanks for reading and commenting I think how to deal is more situational than individual. AND YOUR RIGHT you get taken off a path sometimes because your not ON THE RIGHT PATH!!!
Great Thanks Jon I really liked this comment!

  5. Shake it off or handle it fast? Depends really. Some things I just go ‘Oh well, hey ho.’ Some things I’ve been trying to deal with for over 40 years, some for getting on for 20, some for nearly 15. Sometimes i give up, other times i don’t.
But I do hate the Pollyannas of this world. they really do not always see the seriousness of the situation.. In plain language they’re dumb.

  6. Love the post & pix! The expressions on those dogs made me laugh 😆
As for the question…Depends on the situation. I try to move on. But – some things are not so easy to move on from without having the thoughts or feelings lingering somewhere in the soul.

  7. Without our emotions and experiences, we are nothing.

The quote says nothing about keeping a positive attitude, only about how continuing to do things, to grow, to exert effort in a direction opens up more new opportunities than doing nothing. Doing nothing means it’s unlikely much opportunity will come your way.

How could a new group possibly open for a big name act, if they never practice singing, never work on writing songs, and never put themselves out there where they might be heard and picked up? It would be impossible.

Pursuit of a dream makes it a reality. Dreaming a dream makes it a dream.

    • So well put thanks so much for that VERY THOUGHTFUL statement!!!!
I LOVE the idea of pursuit of a dream makes it a reality!!! VERY COOL!!!

  8. Thanks for being so brave and highlighting this for everyone. Its hard to bounce back from things that get you down or do not go your way and to be so positive about it. The people that are positive seem to me as not being aware.

Good luck with whatever the ‘things’ are……and making it to your goals….

  9. Oh, my. I try to be a half glass full gal, but you know you just can’t be that way all the time. So darned true. Handle…Oh honey, sometimes one does not handle…they get even! But getting even, or back (at), or even over…doesn’t always solve the problem. My long verse for today took a peak at that angst. But one carries on as best as they can. We all have choices and we can make things better and we can win – even if it doesn’t look pretty. Sometimes the best chocolate chip cookies aren’t perfectly round and sometimes the brownies get burnt. But they still taste good.

    • Another thoughtful reply I am surrounded by GREAT THINKERS! YES I TOTALLY agree playing the game of houses can be treturous and revenge is sublime some times but ALL magic has a cost ! LOL I never discriminate a chocolate chip cookie EVER!!! I am an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY COOKIE MONSTER!!! 🙂 Can’t wait to read your post!

  10. Hey there girl, it’s been too long since I visited. All I can say is, the down’s are all part of getting up again. I’m all for going with the slump. Sometimes it hangs around longer if you fight it.

    • Oh don’t worry about not stopping by every day LOL I would not want you to NOT have a life LOL!!! Your ALWAYS WELCOME I LOVE catching up!!! See that’s my problem I am a FIGHTER…. It sometimes works to my advantage but in this case NO!!!

  11. Jasmine,
I had to read this three times before I was able to stop laughing at your canine model and focus on your beautiful words! Greta work.
    The (Faceless) Hook.

  12. I was trying to pay attention to the words, but the pictures were so funny. There is an old HR saying, “no good deed goes unpunished.” I guess my best advice is to worry less about what others think and worry more about what gives you joy, peace, etc. We fret over so many things that are not that important. Have a great one, BTG
